Insurance Claim

In August 2019, a water intrusion issue was discovered. Bella Custom Homes submitted an insurance claim and as of April 27, 2023, Bella still has NOT completed the work. Items that I am aware of that still need to be resolved are:

1. Remove building debris (including 1/2 patio door) from garage.

2. Remove plywood from deck.

3. Repair (or replace) patio screen doors. They were mutilated by the demo guys.

5. Hang Sheetrock in basement. Sheetrock was removed to secure the first floor to the foundation. Dispose of old/broken Sheetrock.

6. Fix low voltage outlet.

7. Install exterior lights above deck, install light switches, and install outlets (interior and exterior). 

8. Replace the 12 wood floor boards in front of the large patio door. Finish was damaged because carpet pad was left in place for almost two years.

9. Repaint dining room wall. Was damaged by Sheetrock installer because he leaned the new Sheetrock against the wall and banged on the wall when removing sheets.

10. Fix assorted issues (nail pops, etc...) in new Sheetrock.

11. Fix floor in hearth room where painter spilled a corrosive material.









12. Remove paint from dining room floor.







13.  Replace recessed light under street side cantilever. It filled with water as a result of the caulk not being installed correctly when the panel above the recessed light was installed.

14.  Fix the water intrusion on the lake side cantilever. Most probable cause is the kickout that is directly above the cantilever. All kickouts should be reviewed and fixed.

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
15.  CORRECTLY repair at least 8 cracks in new Sheetrock. Douglas (painter) said the Sheetrock was not installed correctly.
